Ventnor – A Brief History by Lesley Telford is a short introductory history of the Ventnor area, including Bonchurch, St Lawrence and the coast to the west.  It tells the story of the growth of the town from a small fishing village in the 1830s to a renowned Victorian resort by the end of the century, and describes some of the famous landmarks that have now disappeared, including Ventnor Pier, the two railway stations, Steephill Castle, and the Royal National Hospital.

28 pages of text and black and white illustrations, including a full colour sketch map of the area in the centre of the book.
