The Winter Gardens: A brief history of ‘The Heart of Ventnor’ Part 2. By Poppy Morris.  The continuing story of Ventnor’s Winter Gardens, from the end of WW2  through the 1950s and 60s when the town was full of holiday makers, and top bands played there, to the 1970s when the Winter Gardens was briefly renamed ‘Cascadia’ to try and attract more visitors as package holidays abroad became increasingly popular and affordable, and finally to 2011 when the Winter Gardens finally closed.
