Janet Griffin
We are very sorry to share the sad news that Janet Griffin, a loved and respected colleague, died on Friday 26th July in the Hospice after being diagnosed with cancer four years ago.
Janet had been a member of the Ventnor & District Local History Society since the 1980s, and was our Chair for several years as well as being involved in research and in managing the Society archives and Collection. She was well known to many members, and despite her ongoing cancer treatment was still attending occasional Society meetings this year. She will be very much missed.
Her family have asked us to pass on the following information:
Janet’s funeral is on August 20th, at 11.15 at the Crematorium then on to the Waverley caravan park on Old Road, East Cowes.
People are welcome, if they prefer, to come just to the Waverley to remember Janet, who would prefer bright colours rather than black. Donations are welcome for the Mountbatten Hospice, rather than flowers.
