Report of Society Open Meeting Held 29 May 2026

Ventnor & District Local History Society Open Meeting 

The Trustees would like to thank everybody who attended the Ventnor & District Local History Society Open Meeting held on 29 May 2026.  We also extend thanks to those who couldn’t be with us on the night, who none the less, took time to contact us with words of support and encouragement.

It was a very significant milestone of a meeting for us and some may say a bold move to present our current situation as honestly as we did. We thoroughly believe that this honesty was warranted and in doing so, we were rewarded with an open discussion of frank opinions and inspiring ideas.

We have had some very positive offers of help which will allow us to forge ahead with a more positive outlook for 2027 and beyond. It is evident that our work here at the Society is still relevant and very much valued. Needless to say, more volunteers are always very welcome.

With member support and the wider respect of our local communities, we hope to be able to continue our work of preserving, presenting and promoting our local shared history for many years to come.
